Theater critic Artemus Bancroft isn’t sure what to expect when his aunt summons him home to California with vague but urgent pleas about being unable to cope with “the situation.”

The situation turns out to be the apparent haunting of Green Lanterns Inn—along with alarming rumors that long-suffering Auntie Halcyone may have murdered her philandering husband.

In fact, the rumors seem to have been started by the late Mr. Hyde himself—from beyond the grave.

Séance On A Summer’s Night by Josh Lanyon was a good, old-fashioned mystery with a sprinkling of murder and M/M romance. Though it wasn’t y usual pick for a read – I am so glad I did.

The narrative was well-written. It was easy to follow, flowed well, and kept me guessing. The characters were fun and unique and the romance was sweet. I honestly don’t have any complaints. If you enjoy ghost stories or mysteries, you will likely enjoy this one, and I encourage you to give it a try. I had so much fun with this book and it was perfect for the Halloween season!

Free Fiction Friday #51

Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Free Fiction Friday #51! For those of you who are new to this blog or who may have missed out on the previous Free Fiction Fridays, every Friday (okay, almost every Friday—I try), I post an article containing 10 fiction e-books that are 100% FREE on Amazon at the time of posting and an additional 5 that are roughly of the same genre and on sale for less than $5. I try my best to make sure they are all 4+ stars with over 40+ reviews and 100 pages minimum if I can (it isn’t always possible)—so that you can get a list of the best-of-the-best to choose from and enjoy over the long weekend (while I do more important things than post, like laundry). I try to switch up the genres every week, and this week our theme is: LGBT Romance! (In celebration of the supreme court’s ruling that it is unconstitutional to prevent same-sex couples from marrying anywhere in the U.S. Congrats to the LGBT community—I couldn’t be happier for you!)

NOTE: I apologize to my LGBT readers—there is not a lot of LGBT geared romantic fiction, and even less that isn’t pure erotica or novella-length. I’ve picked what I could out of the group I managed to find, but the numbers are definitely underrepresented. If you know of any good LGBT fiction, feel free to leave a comment and let others know what to look for.
